Installation methods

Angle locking, basic locking, angle-angle

Angle locking

Angle locking requires the planks to be installed through an angular movement, or alternatively through horizontally tapping them into place.

For all Unilin locking systems, angling is the main installation method for the long side of the panel. With Uniclic, angle installation is also possible on the short side of the panel.

Unidrop installation

Drop locking

Drop locking, also sometimes referred to as fold-down locking, is used on the short side of the panel and involves dropping the panels into place, making it especially suitable for DIY-projects.

The following technologies fall under the classification of drop- or fold-down locking: Unidrop, Unifit and Unipush.

Pattern locking

There are several different options to lay a herringbone floor, each of them designed for a secure and seamless installation.

Choose Unizip for a hassle-free herringbone installation, using just one type of panel.

Alternatively, choose traditional herringbone flooring with leftsided and rightsided panels with either a Uniclic locking technology or a Unidrop locking technology.

Digital Printing

We license patented single- and multi-pass digital printing technologies, both used in printing on decor paper , as well as in direct to board printing and digital embossing.

In ceramics, digital printing has been the standard for many years, while in the flooring & furniture markets, digital printing hasn't yet been fully adopted, mainly because of high costs and low printing speeds.

However, over the last decade Unilin has carried out an extensive research and development program to overcome these shortcomings.

The combination of the right equipment, the right ink, the right primer, together with our know-how and intellectual property is key in this project.
