Uniclic

Uniclic was the first one-piece locking profile to be introduced to the market. Over the years it established a leading position as the industry’s favorite locking technology thanks to its unmatched reliability and technical performance.

This glueless locking technology for flooring works perfectly for both the long and short sides of the flooring panel and is suitable for all types of core materials. In addition to that, Uniclic is a locking system that offers superior performance on all product thicknesses.

Installation

The installation of Uniclic is fast and simple. The Uniclic profile can be classified as an angle locking profile, which means it has to be installed by an angular rotation movement. Besides this angular installation method, Uniclic has the unique feature that it can also be installed in a horizontal way by snapping the planks into each other. This is an important benefit as it allows for installation in hard-to-reach areas, such as under a door frame or under a radiator. Uniclic can be installed by a single person, without the need for a hammer.

Features

Uniclic is known worldwide for its strong locking performance which can be attributed to several unique technical features included in the profile design.

Flexible lower lip

Flexible lower lip uniclic

The Uniclic locking system thanks its fail-safe locking performance to the combination of a flexible lower lip and a big strong tongue. During installation, the flexible lower lip will bend out and allow for the locking system to fully click together, while the robust tongue won’t break or edge. This ensures that any production or installation deviation is captured at the bottom of the floor rather than at the surface, which prevents common industry claims such as edge damaging issues and ensures a flawless top surface finish that withstand any floor traffic over time.

For manufacturers, this feature creates larger machine tolerances when producing Uniclic allowing an easier and more flexible production. This is particularly valuable for high-speed production environments.

Pretension

Pretension Uniclic ensures watertightness

Another important feature is pretension. The Uniclic profile is designed to create a pulling force between the two flooring panels by slightly bending the groove. This force pulls the engaged planks closer together, which ensures there are no unwanted gaps or spaces between floorboards. As a result, pretension creates a watertight surface.

Anti-creak

Uniclic anti-creak feature

The Uniclic profile includes many other design features. One of which is the anti-creak feature. The gaps and spaces in the design of the profile limit the movement of two boards when walked on, which reduces unwanted creaking sounds that commonly occurs in floors.

Uniclic and Unidrop - Universal locking systems for flooring

Production friendly

Being a Uniclic licensee has many important advantages. Thanks to the profile’s wide milling tolerances, manufacturers can efficiently mill Uniclic without the high risk of making crucial mistakes that could influence performance of the locking system. Unilin Technologies is known in the industry for its top-of-class technical knowledge and support, helping licensees fine-tune the profile to ensure a perfect match with their specific core materials – both during the start-up phase as during regularly scheduled visits.

"Since Uniclic was the first one-piece profile on the market, we had the freedom to design the profile to have the best technical performance"

Engineered for quality

Tests were performed on SPC flooring products with exactly the same core material.

Profile tensile test

Profile tensile strength test uniclic

86% stronger

This test measures how much horizontal force a locking system can withstand before disconnecting or breaking.

It simulates real-life conditions such as temperature changes and everyday foot traffic.

Castor chair test

2X as many cylces

This test measures how many cycles the floor’s top surface and locking system can endure without damage.

It simulates the wear and tear experienced over its lifetime.

Vertical load test

Vertical load test

60% stronger

This test measures how much vertical weight the short-side locking can withstand before disconnecting or breaking.

It simulates everyday situations such as heavy furniture or high heels near a joint.
