Unilin reacts to unlawful and ineffective termination of the exclusive sublicensing agreement with Ulrich Windmöller Consulting

16/01/2018

Unilin has taken note of Ulrich Windmöller Consulting’s (UWC) intention to terminate the exclusive sublicensing agreement it has entered into with Unilin’s IP division in 2010.

However, this exclusive sublicense contract does not foresee any possibility to terminate and as such the termination of the contract communicated by UWC is unfounded and has no legal effect. As a consequence, Unilin remains the sole and exclusive licensor of the Windmöller patents and any improvements resulting from the UWC R&D. Any future licenses granted on these patents by UWC or other parties will be unlawful.

Unilin will take the necessary steps to claim back damages resulting from any misrepresentation made by any party regarding the above.
