All Unilin locking systems are designed to make installation smooth, efficient, and reliable – for professionals and DIY-enthusiasts alike. On the long side, the primary installation method is angling, with tapping as a practical alternative in hard-to-reach areas.
On the short side, you can install by angling, tapping, or drop (fold down), depending on the profile. All systems are designed for single person installation, reducing time on site and minimizing errors.
Uniclic lets you install through angling on both the long and short sides. It also supports horizontal tapping when tilting is difficult, such as under radiators or door frames. The profile’s pretension, flexible lower lip and anti creak fixation deliver a tight, durable, and quiet joint, even under heavy use and production variances.
Angle installation
Drop locking, also known as drop-down, angle-drop, fold-down or push-down, is used on the short side of the panel. Panels simply drop into place to lock, speeding up installs and making it very DIY friendly.
Supported Unilin systems:
✔️ Unifit: A two-piece locking system that offers 3 installation methods – fold-down, angle or snap/tap. Ideal when jobsite conditions vary
✔️ Unipush: the first generation one-piece fold-down profile for intuitive, single-movement locking
✔️ Unidrop: the second generation one-piece fold-down profile. It installs fast and, uniquely, can be deinstalled through angling up. This can reduces damages and subsequent claims.
Drop installation
Unilin offers multiple locking systems to create a herringbone floor. Each of them is designed to ensure a secure and seamless installation, enhancing both the durability and aesthetic appeal of the flooring.
Traditional herringbone installation uses left and right sided (A/B) panels to form the zigzag pattern. It’s supported by Uniclic (angle) and Unidrop (drop), so you can match the profile to your install team and product mix.
Unizip is our only locking profile specifically designed for herringbone patterns. Supply chain and installation is simplified with one-panel type, no A/B sets required. The short side locks into the long side of the next panel while maintaining horizontal and vertical locking on all 4 sides.
