Unilin enters into settlement agreement with I4F

• All legal procedures between the parties settled; ITC case filed by Unilin against unlicensed imports in US remains in place
• Settlement agreement covers glueless locking flooring panels with a thermoplastic or mineral based core (LVT/WPC/SPC/MgO/…)
• I4F licensees are able to expand the scope of protection with certain Unilin patents
• Unilin licensees are able to expand the scope of protection with certain patents of I4F and several of its partners.

Under the settlement agreement between Unilin and I4F, both parties have given each other’s respective licensees the possibility, under specific conditions, to expand the scope of protection on each other’s patents.

In addition, the parties will withdraw from all pending litigation in the United States and Europe. The complaint that Unilin filed before the International Trade Commission (ITC) will however remain in place as to parties that have not opted to expand their protection to the Unilin patents. In this ITC complaint, Unilin requests a general exclusion order to empower US customs to block all patent infringing vinyl products at the US border. A decision from the ITC judges is expected in the first half of 2020.
