NEWS

Unilin Technologies introduces its patented Pressed Bevel Technology for resilient flooring to its continuously growing licensing base. With this technology, the edges of a resilient flooring panel are pressed downwards into a bevel, making sure the decor layer and texture of the board continue until the deepest point of the bevel. This unique technology, on which Unilin Technologies already started filing patents more than 10 years ago,  enhances the appearance of resilient flooring to be even closer to real wood than ever before.

Chinese Patent Office confirms validity of Unilin’s Click Patent

25/03/2021

In a 13 page decision, issued on March 24th, 2021 by the Chinese National Intellectual Property Administration (“CNIPA”), Unilin’s CN 101023230 patent was declared to remain valid. The decision follows an action filed by a third party claiming the patented invention lacked ingenuity based on several prior art technologies.

This patent is the Chinese counterpart of Unilin’s international family of click patents, that protects Unilin’s current generation of “angling in” click technology. The technology is practiced in laminate flooring and engineered wood glueless products, as well as in SPC, LVT and WPC floor panels.

“We welcome this decision by CNIPA as a reward for our continued dedication to further innovate the flooring industry and to spread these patented innovations through licensing programs. The specific patented technology is licensed to and widely used by our growing international licensing base”, says Bart Van der Stockt, President of Unilin Technologies.
