Unilin receives patent allowance for PET based flooring products and offers exclusive licenses on technology.

Unilin Technologies, the intellectual property division of Unilin, has received a notice of allowance for a new patent, US 18/450,106. This patent, soon to be officially granted, covers the recently introduced flooring products made from PET polymers—such as PETG and R-PET—with a locking system. The patent will be available for licensing exclusively through Unilin for the production of any type of PET-based flooring.

Unilin Technologies proudly announces the launch of a revolutionary production process for pressed bevels in SPC flooring. Using specially designed equipment in cooperation with Chinese equipment manufacturer KONO, this patented technology transforms the way pressed bevels are produced, offering unparalleled accuracy, sustainability, and aesthetic appeal.

For years, Unilin has been at the forefront of surface and bevel technologies in resilient flooring, resulting in patented pressed bevel solutions dating back to 2011. This latest innovation complements those original patents and marks a major leap forward in production efficiency and quality in beveled products, while maintaining a standard slab production and panel finishing. The newly developed process addresses common challenges such as high scrap rates and misaligned bevels, which have had a huge influence on the cost and aesthetics of pressed bevel products on the market today. Effectively making Unilin the one-stop shop to get a workable pressed bevel solution including the needed patent protections.
